Obsession of the Week: Alexander Wang "Lin" Boot

I've been seeing these Alexander Wang 'Lin' leather boots (some call them pumps, others mules) a lot lately, and I can't get them out of my mind.  The shield-like front gives the appearance of a boot, while the back is strictly mule.   I have to be honest though, I'm not sure if I love them or hate them....Either way they have become my obsession of the week.  What do you think?

Put A Belt On It

I haven't worn a belt in quite some time, until a couple of weeks ago.  Now I am finding the belt a perfect accessory to finish an outfit, whether adding one to a dress, over a jacket, or just with jeans and a blouse.  Check out more belt inspiration below.

Happy Friday

Look To Try: The Bow Tie and Blouse

I'm loving the look of a bow tie worn with a blouse, and ever since seeing it parade down the runway of Saint Laurent's Fall 2014 RTW show, I've been wanting to add one to my wardrobe.  I still haven't decided if I am going to buy a blouse and bow combo, or just the bow tie, but either way it will be my next purchase as I can't wait to try this look.  The bow tie and blouse combo not only looks great when paired with a pencil skirt for a professional look, but I can't wait to wear it with distressed jeans and booties for drinks with my girlfriends or dinner with my husband.

Alexander Wang X H&M Lookbook

Images via Vogue

I feel like it was just yesterday when the announcement was made at Coachella that Alexander Wang was collaborating with H&M for a collection that would be available in November, which seemed so far away.  Now, the look book has been revealed consisting of sporty pieces true to Wang's style, including scuba dresses and sweatshirts, mesh leggings, leather joggers and gloves that are fit for a boxing ring.  And in less than three short weeks we will be able to shop the collection.  I have my eye on those booties and neoprene sweatshirt, what pieces are you excited for?

Available November 6th in H&M stores and online

Leopard, Leather and a Sleeveless Sweater

Another gem that I found while cleaning out my closet.  I love all the sleeveless sweaters and jackets I've been seeing this fall, and was excited to find this sweater.  I couldn't decide whether I liked it better belted or just hanging open, so I decided to show it both ways.  I paired it with a faux leather skirt and heels, but when the weather gets colder it will also look great with boots and leather pants.

Faux Leather Skirt: Blank NYC (similar here and here)// Blouse: Equipment// Sweater: Goddis (old but newer options here, or similar here)// Belt: Joe's Jeans// Clutch: Louis Vuitton// Heels: Steve Madden// Bracelets: Vita Fede// Necklace: Sarah Chloe// Ring: House of Harlow

Lately

I woke up this morning feeling refreshed and in a great mood.  I haven't felt this way in over two weeks.  I'm not sure if it's the shorter days (the one thing I don't like about fall), or the fact that the twins don't like to take naps longer than 20 minutes in the afternoon, but I've been feeling exhausted.  And this exhaustion has led to a lack of time and motivation to work on the blog.  So, I apologize that I haven't been regularly posting over the past two weeks, but I'll try to be more consistent going forward.  If anyone has tips on how to get twins to take longer naps in the afternoon, and at the same time, I would love to hear them!

Even though I've been tired, I have still managed to get out the door for some fall fun.  The other week I took the boys on their first apple picking trip to Look Out Farm in Natick, and Mike and I headed up to Vermont to attend my cousins wedding.  I love Vermont this time of year, and the wedding was absolutely beautiful.  I was planning on taking photos of my dress to share on the blog, but as usual I ran out of time, so I'm sharing some that I snapped with my iPhone.

Wearing: AG Jeans// Banana Republic boots (old but similar here)// Equipment Bomber Jacket (worn around waist)// American Apparel Tee// Ray Ban sunglasses.

How pretty is the foliage?

Wearing Tobey Grey Dress// Steve Madden Heels// David Yurman Bracelets//A.V. Max Necklace// On Mike: J.Crew Suit// The Tie Bar Bow Tie// Hugo Boss Shirt// Gordon Rush Shoes.
