Jeans For Christmas

Happy Christmas Eve to everyone who celebrates!  Was hoping for some snow this holiday, but instead we are getting a lot of rain and 60 degree weather here in Boston.  I will be heading up to Killington, VT for the weekend, and last week they got over 13 inches of snow, so I will be having a white Christmas after all.  Here are a few quick shots of an outfit I wore last week.  Remember when I was crushing on the bow tie (here)?  Well, I finally got one for myself and been wearing it non stop.  I love how it can instantly change the look of an outfit, especially when I add it to a top that I have on repeat, such as this white Equipment blouse (those who know me know I will never own enough Equipment blouses!).  This is a typical outfit that I would wear on Christmas day.  Although I love wearing dresses, Christmas day is spent playing with children which entails crawling on the floor, playing outside in the snow, and may include a nap on the couch.  A type of day that is more suitable for jeans.  So to dress mine up, this bow tie and blazer make the perfect combination.  I know it's not very festive, but switching the blazer for a cozy sweater or the boots for a pair of red pumps can easily do the trick.

Obsession of the Week: Nicholas Kirkwood Pumps

How beautiful are these Nicholas Kirkwood embellished satin pumps?  I'm obsessing over the black satin and the faux pearls set into the platform.  I would love to have these for the holidays, as they are perfect with cocktail dresses or dressing up leather pants.

Gift Guide for the Beauty Lover

'Tis the season for giving!

Does anyone have all of their holiday shopping done yet?  I haven't even started, which isn't like me since I normally like to start in November.  Now with very little shopping time left, my goal is to get it done this week.  As I shop for everyone on my list, I will be sharing the items that I find (which I believe make perfect gifts) in few different gift guides over the next week.

First up is a gift guide for the beauty lovers in your life.  A girl can never have too much makeup or perfume!  I'm in love with Deborah Lippmann nail polish, and the glitter one above is perfect for the holiday season.  It not only makes a cute little gift for all my girlfriends, but is also a great stocking stuffer.  If you are shopping for someone who loves a little luxury in their life, then the Christian Louboutin nail polish (such a cute bottle) and La Mer Creme de la Mer is the way to go.  I'm loving the Bobbi Brown limited edition eye palette above, as it flatters a wide range of skin tones, and adds a little sparkle to warm nude colors (which are my favorite).  I just started using this Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes mascara and am OBSESSED.  For someone like me, who barely has eyelashes, it makes them look longer, fuller and actually stand out.  I've tried almost every mascara out there, and so far this is my favorite.  And of course, what girl wouldn't want a perfect blowout.  DreamDry's little black box is perfect for the girl who doesn't mind blowing out her own hair, but I highly recommend a gift certificate to DreamDry or BeStyled for a little hair pampering (perfect for New Years Eve).

Stay tuned for other gift guides this week.

One Skirt, Two Ways

I love when an item of clothing can be versatile, such as this skirt I recently added to my wardrobe.  There are many different ways it can be worn, and today I am showing you two looks.  I styled one look with a little jacket giving it a professional vibe making it office appropriate, then I styled it with a little black top and leather jacket making it perfect for after work drinks or a date night.  I also love that this skirt can be worn year round.  My leather jacket and boots make it perfect for now, but I will wear this skirt in the spring and summer with a white blouse and sandals.

Have you guys heard of eShakti?  If not, its time you have.  eShakti is an online retailer that sells customized clothing at great prices.  They have a wide selection of tops, skirts and the cutest dresses, so you'll be sure to find the perfect one for that holiday party you have this season .  Not only do you give your measurements when ordering an item, but you can also customize the pieces you order, such as adding a sleeve to a dress or changing the length of a skirt, making that item a prefect fit for you.  I chose this skirt and couldn't be happier.  Plus, eShakti is offering 10% off your purchase by using the code threadsforthomas at checkout*.

Oversize Scarf

Can you believe it's already December, and Thanksgiving has come and gone?  I hope everyone had a great holiday.  I spent mine in  Killington, VT with my family, and couldn't have asked for a better weekend.  My favorite pastime is spending time with my family, and when we are all able to be together for the holidays it makes it extra special.  Now that the weather has cooled off, all I want to do is wrap myself in comfy knits and oversize scarves.  I love the idea of wearing a scarf as a shawl or belting it to appear like a cape.  I've owned this snake print one for a couple of years, and it is still my go-to scarf when I want to add a touch of print to an otherwise plain outfit.

Remember when I recently did a post on the fanny pack (you can read it here)?  Well, I thought I would create my own by taking my Louis Vuitton clutch and tying it around my waist to appear as a belt bag.  I actually like the way it turned out, and will be wearing it again.  What do you think?

Jeans: AG Adriano Goldschmied// Sweater: Theory// Scarf: Tolani (old but similar here, and have these here and here on my wish list)/ Boots: Lauren Ralph Lauren// Sunglasses: House of Harlow// Bracelet: Vita Fede// Wrist Bracelet: Gorjana// Ring: Vita Fede
