Twin Boys 6 Months

Mason and Tyler both in Baby Gap// Dress: Parker (old)

Gosh, you don't realize how fast time goes by until your babies turn six months old!  Didn't I just give birth yesterday?!  Actually, this post is a few weeks late, and it should actually be called Seven Months, as that's how old they'll be in five days!  I haven't done a baby post since month four, so I'll update the products we've been loving for the past two months.

Boston Band Helmets:  If you follow me on Instagram, @thomasrachael, you've probably noticed the helmets on Mason and Tyler's heads.  Being great sleepers early on, and constantly on their backs had caused their heads to flatten, Plagiocephaly, and to fix it they were prescribed with the Boston Band helmet.  They have to wear these helmets 23 hours a day to reshape and round their heads.  They got their helmets right after they turned four months, and I'm happy to say Tyler doesn't need his anymore.  Mason still has a little more reshaping to do, but I have to be honest that I don't mind since the helmets come in handy now with all the rolling around and falling over that they do.  I know their heads are protected :)

Gerber Oatmeal Cereal:  I didn't start the boys on solids until the week they turned six months.  I didn't really think they were ready for it before then.  They are now getting the hang of eating solids and love it!  They both really like the oatmeal cereal, and love apples and green beans.  I can't get over how messy they can be when eating, so I've been loving these Aden + Anais bibs.  I love their large size which prevents me from having to do more clothing changes.

Baby Gap Slim Jeans: I have to admit, I wasn't a big fan off dressing the boys in cute clothes until they turned five months.  As tiny babies, white onsies were the easiest to put on them, and I didn't want to spend a lot of money on clothes that they would just grow out of in a week.  Now that they are six months, I love to dress them, and my favorite are these Baby Gap skinny jeans.  Whether paired with a little henley or a great sweater, they always look SO cute.  I also do a lot of their shopping at Old Navy and H&M.

ExerSaucer:  Now that the boys are on the move, this ExerSaucer has been amazing.  I can put them in it, and they'll be entertained for thirty to forty minutes!  Between jumping and playing with all the toys, it gives Mommy time to work on her blog!

Vulli Sophie the Giraffe:  Although they boys aren't showing any teeth yet, you can definitely tell the teething process has started.  Between the drooling and the constant need to chomp, Sophie has been the perfect toy for them to suck on.  I always make sure to throw two of them in my diaper bag when headed out because Sophie also entertains them when we're running errands.  If you have any suggestions for other great teething items, please let me know!

These are thing things we're loving now, and I'm sure more will be added to the list in the next couple of weeks.  The other thing I'm loving is when they boys each hit new milestones.  It's so funny to me how they are developing skills at different rates and have different strengths.  Mason is stronger physically, and not only can he fully sit up by himself, I swear he'll be crawling in the next few weeks, if not days.  Tyler's getting there but can't quiet sit up on his own.  Tyler is more vocal though.  While Mason just likes to grunt, Tyler's babble sounds like words and he's said Da-da a few times!  Overall, each day brings something new and I can't wait to see what month seven brings!

Cozy in Stripes and Plaid

I used to be the greatest sleeper.  Not only was I that person who could fall to sleep on a plane while still on the tarmac, or sleep the whole way on a two hour car ride, but I could take a two hour nap at six in the evening, and easily get into bed at 10 pm and fall right to sleep.  Then I had kids, and lately, I haven't been able to sleep.  I don't understand how it is possible for someone who is as tired as I am to have insomnia.  Not only does it take me about an hour to fall asleep each night, but when I wake up during the night, which is frequent, it takes me just as long to fall back to sleep.  Whether it's a crying baby or something as small as my dog licking her paws, it wakes me, and then I'm up, and it sucks.

With two babies I have to be up and on their schedule, so on the days when I'm too tired to function, which is almost every day, I just want to wear something comfortable and cozy.  Which brings me to this stripe dress and these fleece lined tights.  I know what you're thinking, a dress, comfortable?  But when it's a loose fitting t-shirt dress, and tights that feel more like leggings, yes, this outfit is more comfortable than throwing on jeans.  I can't rave more about these Plush tights.  They are lined with fleece making them extra warm and soft, and they don't pinch at the waistband or start to itch at the end of the day.  They have been my go-to for the past two years.

This was also the outfit I wore during our big snowstorm here in New England.  I added this over sized scarf for extra warmth, and loved how the plaid complimented the stripes in the dress.  I threw on my leather jacket and booties for an appointment and a few errands I had on Monday before the snow started.

Outfit details: Soft Joie Dress (old, similar herehere and here)// Plaid Scarf// Plush Tights// H&M Boots// Veda Leather Jacket (very similar here)// House of Harlow Ring// Romygold Handbag// House of Harlow Sunnies

We ended up getting almost two feet of snow.  I can't wait to take the boys outside to play, and see what they think of their first big snowfall.  Keep warm everyone and happy hump day!

Union & Fifth: Shopping That Gives Back

What's better than finding designer items at great prices?  How about when the profit of those items are given to charity?  I recently discovered Union & Fifth, (thanks to one of my favorite fashion blogger, Hallie Swanson) a non-profit online consignment store that sells designer goods and gives 75% of the profits to charity.  It all started with sister-in-laws Pam Trefler and Christina Reinhard who cleaned out their own closets, consigned their clothes, and ended up raising $40,000.  Giving that money to charity had them feeling great, and that's when they came up with the idea of Union & Fifth.  With many different charities to choose from, you can easily donate your designer clothes and pick which charity you want to support.  Or, if you're looking for that perfect designer item, shopping at Union & Fifth will make you feel good knowing you're helping that charity.

With NYFW approaching, it's time to start planning outfits and Union & Fifth is the perfect place to start.  With a selection of Chanel bags, Stella McCartney sweaters, Tod's flats and Manolo Blahnik heels you're sure to find pieces that will keep you looking stylish all week long.  Here, I styled two outfits that I would wear to NYFW around a classic Chanel bag.  A classic bag like this is one you can use all week as it goes with everything.   Both outfits are feminine with an edgy twist, and whether your wearing a very classic outfit, or ripped jeans and a t-shirt, this Chanel bag makes the perfect finishing touch.  Shop for those perfect designer pieces as Union & Fifth and feel good knowing you're making a difference.

Check out Union & Fifth's website (here), and make sure to follow along on their social media channels for updates.  Instagram (here), Facebook (here) and Twitter (here).

Also, if you're looking for some style inspiration, make sure to visit Hallie Swanson's blog Hallie Daily.  I love her feminine style which is usually finished with an edgy twist (right up my ally, right?).  She makes sophisticated look cool, which is another reason I love to follow her.

Flare Bottoms

Between boho dresses, fringe, gingham, floral, and flared pants the 70's are making a big appearance this spring, and I'm excited to pull out my flare jeans!  I'll never get sick of skinny jeans, but it's nice to switch it up once in a while.  These J Brand Martini flares are one of my favorite pairs that I own (the other is the MiH Marrakesh).  When you're 5'7" and wear four inch heels, it's hard to find a flare pant that is long enough, and these jeans come with plenty of length.  The rise is also higher, which we all know I love, and find it flatters when tucking in a blouse.  I always tuck in my loose fitting tops because it balances out the wide leg, giving a more slimming look.  This blouse is also one of my favorites.  It's one of those pieces that I don't wear very often, but is always a go to when I want something a little more fun.  The leather cuffs and trim make it more of a statement piece, so I kept my jewelry simple and didn't wear any bracelets.

I lightened my hair last week.  It has been almost three years since I last colored it, and decided it was time again.  What do you think?  I'm actually going even lighter, and probably at my appointment as you read this blog.

Jeans: J Brand Martini (on sale here)// Blouse: Elizabeth and James (old but love this floral blouse here)// Boots: Zara// Bag: Chanel// Rings: House of Harlow, Melanie Auld// Necklace: Sarah Chloe

I didn't realize how I was clenching my hands in all of these photos until I was editing them!  I was so cold while taking these photos and just trying to keep my fingers warm (I have the worst circulation).  I didn't wear a jacket because I didn't want to take away from the blouse, however, I wasn't outside for long :)  Happy Thursday everyone!

Alexa Chung for AG

Photos courtesy WhoWhatWear

Alexa Chung's first collection with AG hit store yesterday and I couldn't be more excited.  Not only do I love Chung's style, but AG is one of my favorite denim lines, so the collaboration makes a perfect pairing.  I'm loving the 60's and 70's vibe that Chung brings to the collection, and have my eye on the button up denim skirt and Poppy embroidered denim shirt.  What are your favorites?

Wrapped Up

Last week was freezing here in Boston, which means I've been living in big sweaters and over sized scarves.  I recently added this Zara scarf to my closet, and it's quickly become one of my go-to pieces this winter.  Not only is it super warm, but I love how it can be belted and worn as a poncho, as styled in these photos.  I've also been using this scarf as a blanket and wrapping myself in it when hanging out at home.

These are my favorite jeans right now (last seen here).  I love the slight distressing, and they have a
high rise which I find really comfortable.

Scarf: Zara (similar)// Dress (worn as top): Nation LTD (old but similar herehere, and here)// Jeans: Citizens of Humanity// Boots: Zara// Belt: Joe's Jeans // Bag: Laura Merkin (similar here) //Necklace: Sarah Chloe// Bracelets: Vita Fede

I love how adding an accessory, such as this scarf, can freshen up an old top or change the look of an outfit.  A simple trick when trying to spruce up your wardrobe.  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and have a great Tuesday!
