Black and Blush

Although this outfit is pretty simple, there are three things occurring in this look that makes me absolutely love it.  The first are the colors.  Black and blush are my two favorite hues (along with grey and white, I know, very exciting).  Blush has been one of my favorite colors for years now, and the proof is in this Theory top, as I have owned it for thirteen years!   Which leads to the second, the fact that this top is off-the-shoulder, and if you've been following this blog all summer, you know about my love affair with anything and everything off-the-shoulder.  The third occurrence is these Citizens of Humanity high rise jeans.  As recently mentioned, here, in my mom jean post, I talked about the fact that I LOVE high rise jeans.  They suck everything in, and since they come over my stomach, I never have to worry about having a muffin top.  I love the J Brand Maria, but these Citizens of Humanity Rocket jeans are my other favorite.  I bought them last fall, and although I couldn't find this exact distressed pair, I linked similar colors below.

So there you have it, three of my favorite things in one outfit.  Not to mention, I love simplicity, so I'm sure this look will be on repeat the rest of the summer and, far into the fall.

I've always loved the look of an open back with a necklace dangling down, so I thought I'd give the look a try. What do you think?

  1. No wonder you love this top (and have kept it in amazing condition these 13 years!) the back draping is amazing, and the detailing is fantastic. I would be like you, LIVING in this top all the way through winter (if it didn't get so darn cold!)
