Cozy Sequins + WW Link Up

Happy (almost) New Years!  I still can't get over how fast this year flew by.  Does everyone have fun New Years Eve plans?  I'm hoping to make it back up to the lake to ring in the new year with my sister and friends.  Unfortunately, I've been sick this week with a head cold, so I'm crossing my fingers that I will feel better tomorrow.  Besides my cold, this has been such a great week.  We spent Christmas up at the lake, then headed north on Monday to Killington, VT for our Hanukkah celebration.  It was a wonderful four days with family, and I used that time to unplug, be present, and recharge for all the exciting things coming in the new year.  It was weird to go all day without checking Instagram, Snapchat, or logging onto my blog, but being fully present with my loved ones was well worth it.  However, I'm back and excited to share my last look of 2016, which happens to be perfect for a low key NYE.

If you're anything like me, fancy nights out on December 31st are a thing of the past (at least until the twins are a little older).  For the past couple of years, my New Years Eve has consisted of small get togethers with good friends and kids running around, where no gowns or formal wear are required. Nevertheless, I still like to dress for the occasion, so finding something that is comfortable with a little sparkle is a must.  Which brings me to this look.  This is actually a sequin tank dress that I had hanging in my closet, which I layered with a cashmere sweater giving it a more relaxed and cozy feel.  I love that by adding the sweater, it not only gives an old dress a new look, but it makes it more appropriate for a casual event.  I finished my look with booties, black tights, and a leather jacket for extra warmth, and a little edge.

Do you know what you'll be wearing for New Years Eve?  I wish everyone a very happy and healthy New Year!

Dressing Up An Open Shoulder Sweater + WW Link Up

Happy Friday, and holiday weekend!  Since we celebrate both Christmas and Hanukkah in our household, my family has a busy weekend ahead of us.  We'll be spending Christmas day at the lake with family, then the day after we head up north to Killington, VT to have our Hanukkah celebration.  We'll be in Killington for a few days, so I'm excited for our mini vacation.  Because I'll pretty much be partying non stop through Wednesday, I'm looking forward to a quiet Christmas Eve at home with the hubby while we eat Chinese food, watch Christmas movies, and try to assemble all of the twins toys.

Today I'm sharing a look that is perfect for a holiday party.  What I love most about this look, is the fact that I'm wearing a sweater that is both dressy and cozy.  I've mentioned numerous times on this blog how I am always cold, so being able to wear a sweater to a holiday party, or event, is a big plus.  Lately I've been finding so many fun sweaters that are party perfect (like this one here), and this cold shoulder sweater makes a great option.  The open shoulder cut is both interesting and sexy, while the sweater material is still warm and cozy.  Although I will definitely be wearing this sweater on a daily basis with jeans,  I love how easily it dresses up when paired with a black skirt and over-the-knee boots.  To take the look up a notch (after all, I am styling it for a party) I finished my look with a statement necklace.  I was debating on whether I should wear a necklace, or let my shoulders be the statement, but decided that you can never overdo it for a holiday or NYE party!

I wish everyone a wonderful holiday, and just want to tell you how thankful I am for each and every one of you!  The fact that you take time out of your day to visit my little space on the Internet means the world to me.  I can't wait to share the rest of my 2016 looks with you, and am excited to share some wonderful things coming in the new year.

IMPULSE

Diamonds are a girl's best friend.  This saying felt true for me the other day, when I had the pleasure of visiting IMPULSE by Adamas Fine Jewelry in Wellesley, MA.  Not only did I get to preview their gorgeous collections, but I got to drape myself in layers of gold and diamonds, giving many pieces a test ride.  Lets just say that I'm still drooling over all the beautiful jewelry, and my Christmas list just got ten times larger.

In addition to the beautiful boutique and helpful staff, IMPULSE has a jewelry collection that is to die for.  Whether you're looking for a delicate diamond necklace, or colorful costume jewelry, IMPULSE has it all.  Not only do they have their own signature collection, but IMPULSE also carries many well known artists along with newly discovered names.   With dainty and delicate lines such as EF Collection {my personal favorite}, to romantic pieces from Suzanna Kalan, modern pieces from Freida Rothman, and  gorgeous beaded bracelets from Sisco Berluti you're sure to find something you'll love.  If you're still looking for a truly special holiday gift, then you must check out IMPULSE, because I guarantee you'll find something perfect there.  And ladies, don't forget to send your husbands or significant others in {or to the website}, because you deserve something special!

IMPULSE if offering Threads for Thomas readers 10% off your entire purchase in store and online thorough December 31, 2016.  Use the code threadsforthomas10 when checking out online, or mention my blog in store.

These Les Gorgettes bracelets are not only beautiful, but they are fun to collect.  You chose the cuff design that you love, then the leather bands are interchangeable.  Start with one color, then add different colors to your collection to change up your look.  They are available in three sizes, and look great stacked together.  They retail between $79 and $119 based on size, and make the perfect gifts!

I'm obsessed with these Pop Diamond Jewelry necklaces and bracelets, and ended up taking a choker home with me {which can also be wrapped around the wrist to be worn as a bracelet}.  Not only are they real diamonds, but I love the meaning behind them.  Many cultures believe that wearing a string around your wrists protects against negative energy and the evil eye, while a diamond offers the wearer strength, courage and healing properties.   In addition, with every bracelet sold, Pop Diamond Jewelry makes a charitable donation.

Blanket Scarves, Why They Make A Perfect Holiday Gift

Scarf: here

Hi, my name is Rachael and I have an addiction to scarves.  Seriously though, the amount of scarves that I have hanging in my closet, and rolled up in a basket on my floor, is a little out of control.  The good news is that I pretty much wear them all.  They happen to be my favorite accessory, not only because they add an extra layer of warmth during these cold months, but they can easily change the look of a top of sweater.  That sweater you've already seen me wearing twice in the past week on Snapchat, no problem, I just throw on a scarf and it looks like I'm wearing something completely different {Shh, that will be our little secret}!  Blanket Scarves also happen to be one of my favorite gifts to give, and receive, during the holidays.  They are stylish, cozy, they can be worn many different ways, and you don't have to worry about sizing.  I've linked a few of my favorite plaid blanket scarves below, and the good news is that most are under $30! Plus you still have time to have them shipped to you before the 25th!
