Olive Top and Denim Cutoffs + WW Link Up

I'm beginning to think that olive green is my new favorite color.  Every piece of clothing that I want to add to my closet seems to be that muddy shade of green, including most of my picks from the Nordstrom sale.  Olive is such a pretty shade to wear, especially in the fall, and I love how it pairs perfectly with all colors from black, to browns, and even navy.  This olive blouse is from Forever 21, and I'm obsessed.  I love the blousy fit, roll-tab sleeves, and the price.  It is under $16, and also available in blush, my other favorite color.  I paired it with my denim cutoffs, and finished my outfit with navy booties for a cool summer look.

On a more personal and sad note, I got the news Wednesday night that my grandmother had passed away.  Although I knew this day was arriving soon, as she had Alzheimer's, it's still hard to accept that fact that she is no longer with us.  She hadn't been herself for a while, so I'm happy that she is finally at peace and reunited with my grandfather.  I will be in Vermont this weekend for her funeral, and spending time with my family.  Please excuse my absence from the blog for the next couple of days while I mourn her loss, and celebrate the amazing life that she had.

Rachael's Radar: #NSALE Clothing Under $60

As the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale continues, I decided take another peek at the sale and see if there was anything good still available.  That's when I realized, that I shared my must have fall items from the sale for shoes, sweaters, coats, denim and accessories (which you can find here), but I never shared my favorite picks for tops and dresses.  I'm happy to report that there is still some great stuff left, and all my picks today are under $60!  How cute is this Stripe Romper, which I can see myself wearing into the fall with booties, tights, and a leather jacket, and this Dolman Dress is currently in my cart to purchase.  I just need to decide if I want it in black or olive (with the price, I should get it in both).  I'm in love with the cut of this Topshop Faux Wrap Mini Skirt, and am obsessed with the back detailing on this Free People Oversize Top, which also comes in four colors.  As these items are still in stock in most sizes, I know they will probably sell out soon so hurry, plus prices go back up on August 8th.

Boho Off The Shoulder Dress

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend.  Besides enjoying Saturday night out with the girls, mine was pretty lazy and low key.  I even ended up taking a two hour nap with the twins, which is something I never do!  Sometimes those restful weekends are much needed, and I have to admit that I woke up with more energy today than I've had in a while.  My prior weekend was non stop, as I attended the Killington Wine festival, and today I'm sharing what I wore for a day of tasting wine in the mountains.

Ever since my mom moved to Killington, VT six years ago, it has been an annual tradition to attended the Killington Wine Festival.  Because I knew it was going to be a hot day, I wanted to wear something that was light and airy, and this boho off the shoulder dress made the perfect option.  I paired it with my flat gladiator sandals since I knew I'd be on my feet most of the day, and finished my look with my Chloé cross body bag.  You want to be hands free of holding a bag at a wine festival since you'll have a wine glass in one hand, and want to be taking notes on the wines that you like with the other.

I had every intention of shooting this look at the peak of the mountain since the views are gorgeous from there (the festival is held at the base of the mountain), however, the gondola had stopped working during the duration we were there.   By the time it started up again, it was time to pick up the kids from daycare, so we never make it to the peak.  Maybe next year.

Lace Blouse and Ripped Jeans + WW Link Up

You all know what today is, right (besides FriYay)?  The Nordstrom Anniversary sale has officially began, and now everyone has access to the sale!  Although I haven't made my purchases yet, I wanted to share with you a couple of items which I already own, that are included in the sale.  First are these Citizen of Humanity Rocket jeans, which are my absolute favorite.  I got them last year, and am happy that they're still available, because I think everyone should own them.  Oh yea, they are almost $70 off with the #NSALE!  Not only do I love their high rise fit, but they have the perfect amount of distressing.  I'll probably end up buying them in a different wash this year, because I'm truly obsessed with them.  I also added these Vince Camuto booties to my wardrobe last year, and they are still my go-to pair of boots.  I love how the front dips, showing some skin and complimenting my skinny ankles (a lot of booties are too large around the ankle, making them look awkward).  Not only do they look great with ankle length jeans, but they also pair well with dresses.  Although my particular pair is from last year, Vince Camuto came out with an updated version which is almost identical, and I'm thinking of getting them in the khaki.  I paired this Forever 21 lace paneled blouse with my jeans and booties for a feminine touch, and finished my look with a red clutch for a pop of color.  A perfect look that will take me straight into the fall.

Incase you missed Wednesday's post, I shared all the items that are on my wish list from the #NSALE, and broke them down by category.  If you're going to shop the sale, make sure to first check out the post here.  Now, I'm off to go shop!  I wish everyone a great weekend.

Rachael's Radar: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Happy Hump Day my friends!  I'm sure you're all aware that the #NSALE is currently taking place for those who are cardholders, and if you're not aware, you should be!  I know every other blogger and their mother have been talking about this sale non stop, but there is a good reason: it is a GREAT sale!  It's one of the only times of year, which you are able to get new fall merchandise at marked down prices.  Trust me, I'm nowhere ready to be thinking about fall, but now is a great time to evaluate your fall wardrobe, and add those items that are needed.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret:  I am not a cardholder.  I know, shocker.  A fashion blogger who does not have a Nordstrom card is on the rare side, so I have not yet purchased anything from the sale.  However, I have been stocking the Nordstrom website since the sale began, and taking notes on everything that I love.  Since the sale will be available to everyone in just two days, I'm sharing with you what I believe is the best of the best sale.  To make the shopping process easier, I've narrowed my picks into five different categories, which are all staples for the fall.

The sale opens up to everyone this Friday (7/22), so get ready to shop!  I do have to admit, a few of the items that I have my eye on are either low stock or already sold out, so next year I will make sure to become a cardholder.  The good news is that for those of us who don't want the credit card, you have the option to have a Nordstrom debit card where your purchases are drawn directly from your personal bank account.  A perfect solution in my eyes!  I can't wait to share what I end up getting, and I'd love to hear what you purchased or have your eye on.
