Fringe Kimono + WW Link Up

Fringe, pom poms, and tribal print.  Need I say more?  I have always been a fan of kimonos but if I'm being honest, this is the first one that I have ever owned.  I love the interest that kimonos add to an outfit, all while having a polish, yet at the same time, laid back feel.  I'm not sure why I hadn't added a kimono to my closet before, but this tribal print kimono was calling my name.  Not only do I love the print, but the fringe hem and pom pom details were an added bonus.  For an everyday look, I paired it with my favorite distressed jeans and a silk camisole.  I added a gold choker, then finished my outfit with a pair of gladiator flat sandals, giving my kimono a slight boho feel.  Can we talk about how cute these sandals are?  I'm loving the zipper detail, plus they are super comfortable, which is a MUST in my life lately.  Although this kimono looks great with jeans for a spring look, I have big plans for it this summer.  Not only do it see it adding the perfect amount of warmth to most of my summer dresses, but I can't wait to pair it with denim shorts, or throw it on over my bathing suit for a sunset boat ride.

Donald J Pliner Slides + A Link Up

Happy Tuesday friends.  I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  Mine was filled with friends, family, and much needed me time.  On Saturday I got to celebrate my best friend's soon to be baby boy, as I attended her sprinkle, then on Sunday Mike took the twins out for boy time, which left me with the whole morning to myself.  It was gorgeous here on Sunday, so we made sure to get some family time outside in the afternoon, followed by dinner and drinks....well, milk for the twins. Now, it's back to the grind!

I'm excited for today's post for two reasons.  First, because I get to share with you my favorite pair of spring shoes (no lie, I am seriously obsessed with these slides) and second, because I am hosting a link up with Jessica from J Petite.  We are showing you how to style white jeans, so make sure to check out her blog, and link up below.

Now back to my shoes.  When Donald J Pliner ask me to be part of their #ArtOfFun campaign, I didn't hesitate to join in.  I have been a fan of the luxury footwear brand for a while, but it only took me a few seconds of looking at their spring/summer collection to really fall in love.  These Fairy Embellish Sandals were first to catch my eye.  I had been wanting to add a pair of slides to my wardrobe this spring, and the insect embellished detail not only makes them super fun, but I love the dressy feel it adds to the shoe.  Not to mention, they are the most comfortable pair of sandals that I own.  For my look, I decided to stick with a black and white theme by pairing my slides with my white skinny jeans, and a gingham blouse.  Just like my shoes, this blouse is classic with the gingham print, yet the billowing sleeves take it up a notch and add a playful touch.  These shoes were my ideal pick for this campaign, because I believe it's about fashion being fun.  I'm not one to wear bold colors or wild prints, so the embellishment adds the perfect statement.  Classic, yet a little edgy, and a lot fun.

My favorite thing about these slides is that they can we worn with everything.  From bathing suits and jean shorts, to dress pants and dresses, I'll be living in them this summer.  But I probably won't stop with this pair, as I also have my eye on these woven heeled sandals.  I'd love to hear, what is your favorite pick from the Donald J Pliner spring/summer line?

Levi's and Fringe + WW Link Up

Sometimes it's the simple outfits that make the best looks.  And when you're able to find a simple top with just the right amount of detail, it will take your outfit up ten notches.  That's exactly how I feel about this fringe hem top.  It's so classic, yet the crochet insert and fringe hem makes it very stylish.  For an easy, no hassle look, I paired it with my Levi's distressed skinny jeans, which happen to be my new obsession.  Not only are Levi's such an American classic, but I'm loving the wash and distressing for summer.  Plus they are a high rise, which you all know is a huge must for me when it comes to jeans (you'd feel the same way after having twins).  I love that this outfit can easily go from daytime errands, with flat or wedges, to drinks with the hubby, by adding heels.  For even more of a statement, I added a pair of fringe earrings.  So easy, yet so fun.

My other new obsession is my Quay sunglasses.  I snagged them during the Shopbop sale, not knowing how popular they are.  I guess the black sold out right after I snagged them, but they are still available here.  I love them so much, I'm thinking of getting them in the pink.  What do you think, pink yay or nay?

Stripe Ruffle Dress

I wasn't kidding when I said my closet was overflowing with blue and white stripe pieces.  I hope you're all not sick of them yet!  Today I'm sharing one of the cutest additions to my wardrobe, which is this striped ruffle dress.  If the blue and white stripes weren't enough, add in dramatic sleeves, a pretty bow, a ruffle hem, and what else could a girl ask for?  Oh yea, how about an awesome price.  This dress is $31, and worth every penny.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, Passover, and weekend in general.  We spent ours up at the lake, and I used that time to disconnect and enjoy time with my family.  I even logged out of my Instagram account for three days!  To be honest, the main reason for disconnecting was because my Instagram account had been shadowban.  You may have heard that term floating around, as I know it's happening to a lot of bloggers.  Basically Instagram makes it so your posts don't show up under the hashtags that you use, preventing people from finding and engaging on your posts.  Because I always use the same hashtags, they thought my account was "robotic" and decided to penalize me for it.  I heard one way of lifting the ban is by logging out of your account for 48 hours, and I have to admit that it was a nice break.  As much as I love social media, and engaging with everyone on the platform, it sometimes can become overwhelming and quite time consuming.  I think it's important for everyone to take a break from social media and technology, and be present with those around them.  I'm thinking of making disconnecting for a full 48 hours a monthly thing.  What do you think, do you take social media breaks?

You can see some of my other favorite stripe pieces here and here.

Festival Style + WW Link Up

Happy Coachella!  Festival season has officially arrived, and I couldn't be more excited.  No, I am not going Coachella this year, nor do I have any festivals currently lined up, but that doesn't mean that I'm not excited for the fashion, and adding a little boho feel to my look this summer.  In honor of the first weekend of Coachella, I'm sharing a festival style look, along with some festival style finds, which are all currently all on sale.

For my festival look, I decided to pull out an old denim skirt.  Does anyone else love that denim skirts are making a comeback?  I love the way they look paired a flowy top, so I paired mine with my Free People top from thredUP that was featured on the blog last week (here).  I added a faux fur vest for an extra boho feel, although I have to admit it might be a tad hot for the desert, then finished my look with a cross body bag and booties.  Comfortable shoes are must have at festivals, and booties are perfect for protecting your feet in the desert.

Have you all had a chance to shop the Shopbop sale?  If not, you're in luck because the sale has been extended! You have until Sunday night 11:59 PST to get up to 25% off your purchase.  So far I have bought these jeans, these nude sandals, and these sunnies (which sadly have already sold out).  You can view my other sale picks, here, and you can find my festival style picks below.

Shirt: Free People via thredUP (more Free People here)| Faux Fur: c/o Pink Martini| Skirt: 7 for all ManKind (old, but loving this one here)| Boots: White Mountain Shoes| Bag: Dior| Sunnies: A.J. Morgan| Choker: Kacey K (similar here) | Bracelets: Vita Fede
