Shades of Gray

For those of you who know me, you know gray is one of my favorite colors to wear, and yes, I consider it a color.  When I first laid eyes on these gray J Brand jeans I knew I had to have them right away.  They are a lighter gray with a hint of taupe, making them perfect for the summer.  I paired them with a white silk blouse and my Elizabeth and James linen blazer, which also has hues of gray and taupe, giving my outfit a conservative look.  And yes, I will be wearing these jeans this fall!

I added this beaded necklace to give my outfit more definition since I was wearing monotone colors.

I chose basic black pumps to finish off the look

Line I Love, Torn by Ronny Kobo

I am currently obsessing over dresses from Torn by Ronny Kobo.  Launched in 2008, Torn was started as a designer tee shirt line and has evolved into dresses which I cannot get enough of.  With bandage dresses making a big appearance lately, Torn has mastered this category with silhouettes and knits that actually flatter a woman's body.  Along with body hugging dresses, the skater skirt is a big trend for the fall and Ronny Kobo has done it perfectly adding just the right amount of sexiness to something so girly.  I currently own one Torn by Ronny Kobo dress but I am sure at least two more will be added to my closet this fall!

Below are some of my favorite looks from Torn by Ronny Kobo's Fall and Pre-Fall Collections

Red Wine, White Dress. Killington Wine Festival

Happy Monday!  I spent this past weekend up in the mountains in Killington, Vermont at the annual wine festival.  It was nice to get out of the heat in Boston but even better to spend the weekend with family.  I chose to wear a sundress because not only is it easy to throw on, but it also kept me cool since the temperature was still in the 80's.  I just love white sundresses in the summer and the texture of this dress makes it a little more intriguing.  I paired it with flat sandals and gold jewelry, of course.

I decided to wear flat sandals since we would be walking on grass and gravel.  These Sam Edelman sandals were perfect for standing all afternoon.

We took the Gondola to the top to see the beautiful views

The best part about wine festivals are discovering new wines I would never think to try.  Some that topped my list for reds are Layer Cake Malbec, The Dreaming Tree "Crush" Red Blend, Chalone Monterey Pinot Noir, and Yorkville Cellars "High Roller Red".  I mostly drink dry whites so some of my favorites I found are Villa Pozzi Pinot Grigio, Chalone Monterey Chardonnay, Layer Cake Chardonnay, and Pavao Vinho Verde. The most interesting wine I tasted was Il "Ugo" by Mionetto.  It is a minty tasting wine that was served with a fresh mint leave and I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a refreshing drink on a hot summer day.  What are some of your favorite wines?  I'm always looking for suggestions.  Thanks for reading!

Killington Wine Festival

Killington Wine Festival

Happy weekend everyone!  Hope you all have fun plans for the weekend and are keeping cool in this heat.  I am heading north to Killington, Vermont for the wine festival they have each summer and hoping it will be a little cooler up in the mountains.  This is a last minute trip for me, but if I had the time to shop this would be my outfit pick for the festival.  This Annie Bing dress is perfect for a hot summer day and I can't get enough of these Stuart Weitzman sandals, comfortable and cute!  I'll be posting about the wine festival soon and my actual outfit choice.  Have a great weekend!

The Black Blazer

Theory Tamler Blazer

I often get asked what is one item in my closet that I can’t live without and for the past few years I’ve always had the same answer, my black blazer.  I love how I can throw it on with anything and instantly feel put together.  My favorite look is pairing a blazer with jeans, especially my ripped pair this summer, giving those holes a little bit of sophistication.  Blazers also act as the perfect cover up when wearing a little dress and easy to put on when you get a little chilled.  Every girl should have a basic black blazer in her closet.  What’s your go-to in your closet?

Save the Date, Isabel Marant for H&M

If you ask any style setter, model or fashion editor who is one designer they must have in their closet, they will most likely all the same answer:  Isabel Marant.  Marant, best known for her high top sneakers, studded sandals and knitwear has been adding a hint of bohemian to the fashion forwards’ wardrobe all over the world.  Studded suede jackets, leggings, and pelmet skirts were shown in her fall collection along with classic jackets tailored to fit your boyfriend.

Unfortunately, not every fashionista is lucky enough to be able to stock her closet with pieces from Isabel Marant…. until this coming November.  The designer is collaborating with H&M with a line for men, women, teens, and accessories.  So mark your calendar.  It premieres 11.16.2013!
