The Slipdress
This past summer I was cleaning out my closet and came across this slip dress from Cynthia Vincent, which I also own in black. Thinking that the slip dress was long outdated, I was about to throw it into my donate pile when I froze. For some reason I just couldn't get myself to part with it, and instead I threw it into my pajama drawer thinking it would be perfect to sleep in (which hasn't happened). Fast forward to the present and realizing that slip dresses are once again fashionable, I couldn't be happier that I kept mine. They are great paired with boots and leather jackets giving you that 90's grunge feel. I know I recently said that I am not a huge fan of the grunge look (here), but I thought I would give it a try and show you how I make it fit into my own style.
I added a cashmere cardigan to my dress instead of a leather jacket giving it a softer feel. I finished the look with gold jewelry and black leather bag and boots to add that slight tough girl edge.
If you're looking for a good slip dress, I recommend Zara, as they have a few on my wish list. This one below will probably be my next purchase.

Obsession of the Week: Chanel Chain Boots
The second I laid eyes on these boots from Chanel's fall/winter collection, I fell in love. Between the patent leather and chains they scream punk that's super chic. In my opinion, they are the epitome of cool.
Photoed above is the tall version of the boot, below are photos of bloggers sporting the short version

Black, Blue and Plaid
As many of you have probably noticed, the 90's are back in a big way. Between the comeback of slip dresses and plaid everything (dresses, shirts, pants, coats), channeling Clueless' Cher has never been more fashionable. I however, have never been a big fan of plaid. I am more of an 80's girl as the grunge look just is't for me. Nevertheless, when pumpkin picking with my niece and nephew this weekend, I couldn't think of a more appropriate time to wear plaid. I bought this one by Joie a couple of years ago and was excited to pull it out of my closet. With the black and blue color and ruffle details that soften the shirt, it was a plaid that was more me.
Black and blue, especially navy, are one of my favorite color combinations this fall. That's what first drew my eye to this plaid shirt. I finished the look with navy suede booties, a fringe bag, a black (faux) leather jacket, and gold jewelry.
This jacket is from Blank NYC and I love the way it drapes. It is a perfect throw-on for this time of year and a great alternative to buying a real leather jacket. For more on the brand, click here.
If your're looking for a good plaid shirt, I recomend this one by Rails
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend. Thanks for reading!

Sunless Tanners
I love almost everything about the fall. The change in weather allowing you to put cozy sweaters on, wearing boots with just about every outfit, apple picking, baking with said apples, and seeing the trees change all sorts of beautiful colors. There is actually only one thing I don't enjoy about the fall, and that's the fading of the tan that took all summer to perfect. Yes, I have been looking in the mirror the past couple of days only to have a pale refection starting back at me. So I decided it's time to try some self tanner. In the past I have found two that I have been happy with. The first being L'Oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Self Tanning Lotion and the second being Tan Towel Self-Tan Towelettes. Both of these products left me with a bronzed glow that wasn't too orangy, but the smell always seemed to bother me. Although the scent of self tanner was faint, and I am the only person who probably could smell it, it still daunted me that is was there. After doing a search of top rated self tanners I decided to try St. Tropez Gradual Tan. I have only heard good things about the brand and am excited to give it a test run. Today was my first application and I have to say I am very impressed with the smell. There isn't a hint of that self tanner scent but instead a pretty lotion aroma. I will use it over the next week and update you with my review. In the meantime, if you have used St. Tropez Gradual Tan, please tell me what you think. Did I make the right self tanning choice?
Hope you're enjoying your week!

Pink Coats
MSGM
Club Monaco Stella Coat
By Malene Birger Bugsy Wool Blend Coat
Zara Masculine Studio Overcoat
Top Shop Fluffy Swing Boyfriend Coat
Pink Coats are a must have this fall and winter. My favorite thing about a great coat is how you can throw it on over anything, even pajamas, and look put together. With all of the black, grey and navy overtaking the color palette this season, a pink coat adds just a touch of softness to your outfit. However, I love how these coats are a bit over-sized adding a masculine touch so they aren't too girlie. Above are some of my favorite picks.
