Tartan and a Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I can't even put into words how thankful I am this year for my family, but most of all, to have my two little men in my life.  Being a Mom has been the best gift I have ever received, and celebrating the holidays with my boys make it extra special.  While cleaning out my closet I found this old Betsy Johnson dress, and was excited to wear it, not only because tartan is a big trend this fall, but it makes a great outfit for the holidays.  I'm not loving how the top of the dress fits me, so I decided to style it as a skirt instead.  Here I paired it with a leather jacket, but I'm thinking a sweater worn over it will make a perfect outfit for Thanksgiving.

Dress (worn as skirt) Betsy Johnson (old but similar here on sale) // Leather Jacket: June (old but similar here on sale // Bag: Louis Vuitton// Sunglasses: House of Harlow// Boots: Lauren Ralph Lauren// Bracelet: Vita Fede// Ring: House of Harlow

I hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving has a great holiday!  I'll be updating the blog with Black Friday sales so stay tuned.

What To Wear This Thanksgiving

Is anyone as excited as I am that Thanksgiving is this week?  I can't believe the holiday season has arrived!  Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and if you're like me and love to stuff your face, you want to wear something that is comfortable and has a little extra room.  Here are some outfit ideas that will let you do just that, while looking cute at the same time.

I love wearing dresses, and find ones that are not too fitted to be more comfortable then wearing pants.  Since I lead a pretty casual lifestyle I use every holiday as an excuse to dress up, so dresses are always a go for me on Thanksgiving.  The ones above would be perfect for Thanksgiving dinner because they aren't too fitted.  I'm obsessing over the Marchesa dress above, and if you're in a cold climate like I am, a pair of black tights and a black fur vest would make it more weather appropriate.  A sweater dress is on my wish list this winter.  They look so comfortable, and I'm loving the one above from Madewell.  I would add a tall boot to it to complete the look.

If you're not a girl who likes wearing dresses then elastic waist pants, loose boyfriend jeans, and midi skirts make a great option.  Adding a cozy sweater to a pair of leather leggings, or a blouse and heels to boyfriend jeans or joggers will have you looking polished while being comfortable.  Below are some outfit ideas to pull of this look.

Line I Love: IRO (Spring 2015)

Images Via:

A brand that I have been loving for a while now is IRO.  The line consists of classic pieces that have a bohemian and rocker twist to them, which we all know is right up my ally.  Each season, IRO comes out with a jacket that is always on my wish list, and their spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is no exception.  Consisting of mostly a black and white palette (my favorite colors), dresses and tops were finished with lace detailing, net-like open weaving made up a maxi skirts, making it appear not so maxi, and fringe detailing completed dresses and a leather jacket making these classic pieces scream with coolness.  I can't wait for this collection to hit stores, but in the meantime, I put together some of my favorite fall/winter IRO pieces below.

Obsession Of The Week: Michael Kors Camel Coat

One item that has been on my wish list this fall and winter is a camel wrap coat (hint, hint Mike).  It's another classic I believe women should have in their wardrobes.  Having a tailored (and perfect fitting) coat can make any outfit look more expensive, and I love how you can throw a classic coat over sweatpants and appear put together.  While browsing Net-A-Porter, I came across this Michael Kors cashmere blend coat, and fell in love.  Not only does it scream luxury, but it looks so cozy I want to wrap myself in it and wear it to bed.

Classics In Black and White

One of the best things about dressing in the fall is wearing layers.  I love how you can just throw on a knit, jacket, hat, or in my case, a fur vest and instantly change your outfit, making it a little more interesting and stylish.  That's what I did here.  I took my favorite classics (and items I believe every woman should own): a white button down, leather pants, and knee high boots and turned it up a notch by adding this fur vest.  Because my outfit was all black and white, I added a pop of color with my red clutch, which happened to match this beautiful tree that created a perfect back drop for my photos.

I'm also loving the versatility of this outfit.  I styled it here for an everyday look, but it can easily turn into a date night outfit just by changing into a sexy high heel, or can be more professional by buttoning the shirt up all the way, adding a statement necklace or bow (as seen here) and switching the boots for a kitten heel or flat.

4 Months

I can't believe my babies are four months old now!  Gosh, time is flying.  Although part of me wants time to slow down because I think they are growing too fast, the other part of me can't wait to see what the next month brings as they are becoming more fun and developing personalities.  At four months they are smiling all of the time, and are now starting to interact with each other, which melts my heart.  Both boys love playing on their play mat, and Mason just started rolling over.  It's amazing how much they change as each week goes by.  I want to share some of our favorite baby products now that the twins are four months old.  In case you missed my favorite newborn/ infant products, you can find them here.  We are still using and loving all of the products from the newborn post, and below are products we added from month three to four.

Baby Products 4 Months

1. Pottery Barn Stroller Blanket: Now that it is getting cold out, we are loving these Pottery Barn Stroller Blankets.  They are perfect for throwing over the boys car seats when headed out of the house for keeping them warm.

2. Rainmaker Shaker: Not a lot of the toys we own grab the boys attention for very long, as they are still a little young, but they love this Rainmaker toy.  Between the colors and the "rain" noise, they get entranced looking at it.

3. Little Blue Truck: I try to read to the boys daily, but after a couple of pages, their attention is no longer on the book.  However, when I read Little Blue Truck they smile from beginning to end, making it our favorite book right now.

4. Baby Einstein Activity Gym: The boys are loving their play mat.  After we do tummy time, they lay on their backs and are entertained anywhere from 10 minutes to a half an hour kicking and swinging their arms.

5. Bumbo: Now that the boys are able to hold their heads up pretty well, they always want to be sitting upright.  I often place them in their Bumbo seats so they can sit next to me while reading, working on my blog, or folding laundry.  They love sitting in their Bumbo, which is especially helpful to me, as I can't be holding two babies all the time!

6. Dr Brown's Bottles: We've been using Dr. Browns bottles for a while and love them.  They are now using the 8oz bottles, ahh, they're getting so big!

Again, I'd love to hear what your favorite baby products are, especially for ages four to six months.
