Gifts for the Hostess

It's party season!  Whether you are headed to someone's home for a get together, or shopping for your sister/friend who loves to entertain, then this guide is for you.  I've rounded up some great gifts, all under $60 (with most being under $35).  And of course, when all else fails, you can never go wrong with a nice bottle of wine!

1. Pineapple Tumbler:  Not only is this super cute, but it's perfect for a party.  Put it on a bar cart, or it will look beautiful on the dinner table.
2. Soap Set: I love having pretty soaps in my guest bathroom, and Fresh soaps always smell so good.  This set is only $30, and I love that is comes with the lip treatment!
3. Mug: If you're like me, I can never own enough mugs!  Cute sayings cheer me up in the morning, and I love when my guests get to use them too.
4. Throw Blanket:  Not only does this one look great draped over a chair, but it's super cozy.  Perfect for snuggling on the couch on a cold night.  Plus it comes in 19 colors, and is under $30!
5. Coasters: For someone who loves to entertain, you can never have enough coasters.  I love the sleek look of these brushed copper ones.
6. Candle: Like a nice bottle of wine, you can never go wrong with a candle.  Not only do Diptyque candles smell delicious, but they have a luxury feel.
7. The Art of the Bar Cart Book:  Coffee table and cook books always make great gifts, and with bar carts being so popular right now, this book is perfect for that cocktail lover.
8. Cheese Plate:  Not only is this great for serving, but I love that this one is monogrammed for a more person touch.
9. Cheese Knifes:  I love collecting cheese knifes, and these gold plated ones add an elegant feel.

Stripes, Leopard, Leather & Cyber Monday Deals

Free People Cardigan

Happy Black Friday!  I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I'm currently up at the lake, enjoying some shopping online while I digest from the mountain of food that I ate last night.  If you saw my Insta Stories earlier this week, then you know I did a little pre-Black Friday shopping, and today I'm sharing some of my finds along with my favorite sales taking place this weekend.

This is the outfit that I wore last weekend while in Vermont, and I wanted to share it for two reasons. First, because I love the mix of textures and print, and second because my favorite cardigan is on sale!  Although my faux leather pants are no longer available (cry), I did link the updated pair, along with a similar pair for only $49.  I recently got these leopard booties, and love them!  Hurry, they are 40% this weekend!

I've linked all of my favorite Black Friday sales below, along with some of my top sale picks.  Also, many of you know that I'm a LipSense distributor, and I'm running some great sales in my Facebook group.  If you've been curious about LipSense, it's the perfect time to try out the AMAZING lip color.  You can check out the deals here.  Happy Shopping!

Easy Thanksgiving Day Look

Thanksgiving outfits 2017
*This post contains sponsored content and affiliate links.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting the brands that make Threads for Thomas possible.

The countdown is on.  My favorite holiday is less than a week away, and in addition to planning the pies that I'm going to bake, I've been racking my brain with what I'm going to wear.  Being comfortable is key, but of course I want my outfit to be cute and look put together.  I recently got this dress from Charming Charlie, and after trying it on, I realized it would make a perfect option for Thanksgiving Day.  Not only is the trapeze style super cute (and comfy), but the flowey cut will allow me to eat all the food I want, while hiding the food baby!  For extra warmth (because you know I'm always cold), I paired it with a faux fur vest.  I love how it gave the dress a little more shape, while adding a fun texture and a cozy feel (a chunky cardigan would also be a great option).  If you follow my Insta Stories, then you know that this is the fur vest that I found on Gilt for half the price, and I can see myself wearing it throughout the holiday season.

Without the extra layer, I found this dress to be a little shapeless, so I added a belt to make it more flattering.  I finished my look with OTK boots, which are my go-to when wearing dresses in the winter, as they add extra warmth.  When the temperatures drop even more, I'll add tights to finish this look, or I can see myself pairing it with a pair of faux leather leggings.

If you're looking for affordable clothing and accessories, then I suggest checking out Charming Charlie.  It has become one of my favorite places for finding fun, and affordable, statement jewelry.  This dress is my first clothing purchase from them, and for $35 I'm impressed with the quality and fit.  Have you shopped at Charming Charlie?

Burgundy Sweater Two Ways For Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving outfit ideas

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is next week?  It's my all time favorite holiday, and to say that I'm excited is an understatement.  Bring on the stuffing and apple pie!  Which brings me to the task of finding the perfect outfit.  Because I tend to over indulge on the holiday, finding an outfit that is both cute and comfortable is key.  Since we'll be at the lake this year, and our Thanksgiving dinners are on the casual side, I'm thinking that a cute sweater is the way to go.  This ruffle sleeve chenille one couldn't be more perfect!  The burgundy color makes it festive for Thanksgiving, and the ruffled sleeves add a fun touch.

Because I want to be casual, yet still look put together, I'll most likely be wearing black jeans.  I love how a high rise solid black jean can give off a dressier feel.  Plus, I find the high rise cut to be both comfortable, and super flattering, as they suck everything in!  If you'd rather wear an elastic waistband, then I suggest swapping the jeans out for these leggings, which I can't stop wearing lately.  I thought that finishing with a leopard pump would add a fun pop of print, and love the block heel on this pair.  If you don't want to wear a heel, choose a leopard flat or bootie instead.

What I love about this ruffle sleeve sweater, is that is can easily be dressed up.  If your Thanksgiving dinner is more formal, swap out the jeans for pleated midi skirt, and finish your look with a high heel or over-the-knee boot.  For a little extra coziness, wrap yourself up in a plaid scarf.

Grid Coat + Link Up

Grid pattern long coat
*This post contains sponsored content and affiliate links.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting the brands that make Threads for Thomas possible.

Well, we have officially reached winter temperatures here in Boston.  With a high of 34 degrees today, it's time to pull out the heavy coats.  Although I'm not ready for it to be THIS cold, I do have to admit that I was excited to wear this grid longline coat that I recently got from SheIn.  I had been on the hunt for a long coat to add to my wardrobe, and when I saw this windowpane print beauty, I added it to my cart right away.  I love how the windowpane print adds a classic, yet fun feel, making it the perfect coat to pair with everything from jeans to cocktail dresses.

I have to admit, after actually wearing the coat, I discovered it's best suited for milder weather.  It isn't lined, so the material is thinner than I thought it would be, making more of a late fall type of coat (perfect for temps in the upper 40's and 50's).  Also, I doesn't have a closure, which was easily fixed by adding a belt.  What I do love about the coat, is that it looks more expensive than it is.  You would never know that it cost less than $45!

I paired it with an Equipment button down, and my faux leather Spanx leggings, which by the way, I can't stop wearing!  Although I bought them back in July during the Nordstrom sale, I only wore them for the first time this week, and haven't taken them off since.  Not only do they suck you in at all the right places, but they're so comfortable!  I was lucky to snag them on sale, but I'm telling you, I would pay full price for them, because they are worth it!  I'm thinking I need them in the burgundy color, the moto style, and the regular material!  I finished my look with my favorite grey booties (yes, I'm wearing them again...) and my vintage Chanel bag that was passed down from my Grandmother.

Late Fall Colors + Link Up

open chunky knit cardigan
*This post contains sponsored content and affiliate links.  All opinions are my own.  Thank you for supporting the brands that make Threads for Thomas possible.

Happy November friends!  Now that Halloween is behind us, it's time to get into the holiday mode.  In just three short weeks, my favorite holiday will be here, so it's time to start thinking about chunky knits and stylish, yet comfortable, outfits you can wear while stuffing your face!

Speaking of chunky knits, how cute is this open knit cardigan?  Not only do I love the burnt orange color for the fall, but it has a thin shawl collar and pockets, which both add fun detailing.  The sleeves are three quarters length, making it a perfect cardigan to throw on during a warmer fall day.  However it's been cooling off here in New England (were talking only 40 degrees in the mornings), so I've been wearing it layered over long sleeve tops.  I decided that I wanted to mix the burnt orange with grey, and chose my thumb hole tee.  Does anyone else have a love/hate relationship with thumb holes?  I love the way they look, and the warmth they provide, yet I hate having to take my thumbs out every five minutes to wash my hands or clean up the kids.  However, I can't stop buying them!  I finished my look with my favorite grey booties, and threw on a plaid blanket scarf for extra coziness.  I love how the colors looked paired together for a late fall look.
