Life Update + WW Link UP

*This post contains affiliate links.

Hi friends.  Unfortunately I don't have an outfit post to share today, as I'm still in the hospital with my son Tyler.  If you read last weeks post, then you already know that Tyler was admitted to Children's Hospital for a bacterial infection.  He was having stomach pains and bowl problems for almost six weeks, and because it took us longer than it should have to figure out what was causing them, he had became anemic and dehydrated, landing him in the hospital.  I was initially told that we would only be admitted for two to three days while he was given an IV, and his first few doses of medicine.  However, after a week of taking his antibiotic, there wasn't much improvement in his condition, so the doctors decided a colonoscopy was needed.  Yesterday, we got the results from the colonoscopy and discovered that the reason he wasn't healing (and how he ended up with the infection in the first place), was because he has ulcerative colitis.  Colitis is an Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD) that affects the large intestine, or colon.  There is no cure for colitis, however it is treatable, and can be maintained with the right medicines and diet.  Although no mother ever wants to hear that her child has a chronic condition, there's a bit of relief in finally knowing why he has been so sick, and now we can begin treatment.  Tyler has now been on medicine for the colitis for 24 hours, and is already showing tremendous improvement!  We just need to make sure that his blood count levels are back to normal, and that he can go without being dehydrated when not on an IV before we are released from the hospital.  I have high hopes that we will be home this weekend.

I've been staying with Tyler at the hospital, and have only been home a couple of times to shower (thank goodness for dry shampoo) and do some laundry.  So lets just say that I haven't been the most fashionable person these past 10 days, or have had time to take blog photos.  I am sharing the outfit that I've basically been living in this past week (below), and  praying that we get home to our own beds this weekend.  I'll be back with outfit posts soon!

White Tassel Jumpsuit + Link Up

*This post contains sponsored content and affiliate links.  All opinions are my own.

This week has been a whirlwind.  My son, Tyler, has been having stomach issues for over six weeks.  After several visits to the doctor, and a trip to the GI specialist, we finally figured out that his stomach pains are being caused by a bacterial infection of his colon.  The good news is that it's treatable with an antibiotic.  However, since it took six weeks to figure out what was going on with his stomach (don't even get me started on that one), he has developed a couple of complications which has lead him to being hospitalized.  We are praying that his antibiotics will kick in today, and we'll be able to bring him home this weekend, but if not, we will need more procedures and test done early next week.  If you have noticed that I've been a little absent from the blog and my Instagram this week,  it's because my mind has been elsewhere!  With that being said, I'll let the photos do the talking for cute little white tassel jumpsuit.

Just a note that the bottom is a little on the sheer side, but  I wore seamless nude underwear, which did the trick.

My Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Purchases + Link Up

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale #nsale #fallstyle
*This post contains affiliate links.

I'll admit, I had my alarm set to go off at 3am for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale (early access) launch, but I just couldn't get out of bed!  Although it probably makes me a bad blogger, since I was late getting my Anniversary Sale post live, sleeping until 7am had me well rested, and refreshed for a day of shopping!  I wasn't able to make it into the store yesterday to shop, since the twins were home with me (major props to moms who can shop with their toddlers), but I searched the Nordstrom website high and low for all my favorite fall pieces, and shared them in this post here.  I made sure to purchase the items I'd been eying online, before they sold out, and opted to pick them up in store (one of my favorite features with shopping Nordstrom online).  Thanks to my Father-in-law, I had a kid-free hour to run to Nordstrom to pick up my purchases, and do a quick browse of the shoe section.  Here is everything I purchased (so far).

For sizing reference, I am 5'7" and 128 lbs.

Above Photo:
Thread & Supply Brandon Fleece Jacket (Original Price $88, Sale Price $58.90):  Seriously the softest jacket ever.  I'll be living in it this fall.  It runs a tad large, and I love how the size small fit me.

Brixon Fiddler Corduroy Baker Boy Cap (Original Price $48, Sale Price $31.90):  How adorable is this hat?  I'm loving the feminine touch of the Rose color, but it also comes in black.  This hat does come sized.  I'm wearing a small, and I still have a little room.

Basic Thermal #nsale #fallstyle

Socialite Thermal Henley (Original Price $38, Sale Price $24.90):  This thermal is such a great basic, and super soft.  Not only is it cute on it's own, but it makes the perfect layering piece.  It comes in three colors and runs a tad on the small side.  I got the medium, and love that it wasn't too fitted.

Madewell 10" High Waist Skinny Jeans (Original Price $135, Sale Price $89.90).  Okay, so I didn't buy these jeans during the sale, but am so excited that they are included, as they're my favorite jeans!!  I think that the wash is a tad different, but the cut is the exact same.  I love the high rise and the button detailing.  Since they are a 29" inseam, they are an ankle fit on me, but love the length for summer, or paired with booties for the fall. They run true to size, and I'm wearing a 26.

Peep Toe Mule #nsale #fallstyle

BP. Tonya Open Toe Mule (Original Price $79.95, Sale Price $49.90): So these were a total impulse purchase.  I didn't notice them until I was browsing the shoe section while picking up my purchases.  It was the blush color that caught my eye, although they also come in black, red, and grey.  I love the block heel, and that I can wear them now and into the fall.  I sized up a half of size.

Lace Trim Camisole #nsale #fallstyle

BP. Lace Trim Satin Camisole (Original Price $35, Sale Price $22.90):  This is a closet staple!  I bought it in black last year, and can't count the amount of times that I have worn it.  It's cute paired with high waist shorts now, and perfect under a cardigan, blazer or leather in the fall.

Faux Leather Jacket #nsale #fallstyle

Blank NYC Meant to Be Moto Jacket (Original Price $98, Sale Price $64.90):  If you're looking for a great faux leather jacket, then this is it!  It comes with a removable hoodie, so it's like two jackets in one.  I love that the hoodie adds a relaxed, causal vibe to the jacket.  I'm normally a size small in Blank, but sized up to the medium.

Booties #nsale #fallstyle

Vince Camuto Movinta Bootie (Original Price $149.95, Sale Price $99.90):  I'm loving the shape of these booties.   The tapered heel gives off an Isabel Marant vibe, and it's the perfect hight.  Short enough for running around in the daytime, but high enough to wear out at night.  These boots come in four colors, but I opted for the black as I needed a new pair in my wardrobe.  I can definitely see myself wearing these with everything from jeans to dresses.  They run true to size.

I'll be doing an in-store shopping/try-on session soon.  I had planned on doing it today, but think I'll wait until the sale is open for the public to find all of the goodies that are still available.  If you have any product or sizing questions, please feel free to message me.  Also, don't forget to enter the $600 Nordstrom Gift Card Giveaway HERE!

Although I haven't been able to make it into the store yet, I was up early scouring the website high and low for all the best finds, and lets just say, this sale is a good one!! I've already placed my first order, and will be picking up my merchandise later today, so stay tuned for a try on session.  In the meantime, to make shopping the sale easy for you all, I broke down my top sale picks by category.  My strategy for shopping the Anniversary sale is to stock up on basics, so that's pretty much what I'm sharing.  However, if there is anything specific that you would like to see on, or need help with choosing, send me an email and I'll be happy to help you out!  I plan on making a visit to my local Nordstrom tomorrow (Friday) for a try on session, so I can better show you how everything fits.  Happy Shopping!

Trunk Club Review

Trunk Club Review
*This post contains affiliate links.

I finally tried Trunk Club!  I had been wanting to try the personal styling service for several months, but for some reason never got around to scheduling my first Trunk.  Now, I'm mad I didn't sign up sooner, because I'm loving the service!

If you're unfamiliar with Trunk club, it's a personal styling service that is owned by Nordstrom.  Some cities (Boston being one) have clubhouses where you can shop with a personal stylist in person.  However, if you're unable to make it to a Clubhouse, you can sign up online and have a Trunk sent to your home!  After signing up and creating your profile (which is quick and easy), you are assigned a stylist who will then message you to learn about your style preferences.  I loved that I had an open conversation with my stylist as she got to know my style, and I could easily tell her what I was looking for and wanting to add to my closet.  Your stylist then puts together a package (Trunk) of 12 items to send to you, all to try on in the comfort of your own home.  You have 5 days to decide what you want to keep and send back, then you can either schedule a pick up of your Truck (in the prepaid package provided), or drop it off at your local Nordstrom store.  Also, if you like an item and it's the wrong size, or want it in a different color, you can exchange it!  The best part is, you get to preview everything that your stylist sends in your Trunk beforehand!  That way, if there was something you know you don't want, you can simply have it switched out for another item!

There is a $25 styling fee with each Trunk.  If you end up keeping any items, then the $25 is put towards your purchase.  If you have a Nordstrom credit card, then the fee is waived!  You can sign up for Trunk Club here.

Here is what was in my Trunk:
1. Madewell Jumpsuit (shown above).  I thought this jump suit was super cute, and love the floral print and wide leg cut.  Unfortunately, the torso was a tad to short on me.  Between my tall frame and large chest, it just felt like it was pulling every time that I bent over.  Besides that, the rest of the jumpsuit fit great, so I think the medium would been too big.  If you're looking for a jumpsuit that can take you from day to night, I highly suggest this one!

Trunk Club Review
2. Willow & Clay Print Wrap Maxi Dress.  You guys, how pretty is this dress!  I have been wanting to add a wrap dress to my wardrobe, and love the print and cut of this one.  Plus, the pom pom detailing and bell sleeves, gave it a fun kimono feel.  Unfortunately, if you're large chested, this dress isn't for you.  It barely covered my chest, and every time that I moved it fell wide open. The rest of the dress fit perfectly, so I was bummed I had to send it back.

Trunk Club Review
3. 1. State Tie Front Blouse.  I feel this top would make a great staple in every woman's closet! I love the tie front detail, and can see myself wearing this with everything from jeans, to a skirt for the office.  It runs true to size (I'm wearing a small), and comes in four colors.

Trunk Club Review
4. Willow & Clay Eyelet Shorts.  These are adorable!  I love the eyelet material and the pom pom detailing.  The length is perfect (not too long, but not too short), and I can see myself styling them many different ways.

5. E8 My Miista Fringe Slides.  I thought the detailing on these slides were so fun!  I love how they can easily dress up a plain outfit.  However, I really wasn't sure how much I would actually wear them, so I sent them back.

Trunk Club Review
6. Leith Side Knot Tee.  This tee is so my style! The knot detail adds such a fun touch to a basic, and I'm obsessed with the color.  It's perfect paired with jeans, or can be dressed up.  It's also available in Ivory and Black.

Trunk Club Review
7. Marc Fisher Zala Pump.  One thing that I needed to add to my wardrobe was a nude pump, so I asked my stylist to send me a pair.  This isn't a style that I would pick out for myself, but instantly fell in love with them after trying them on!  They're perfect for both daytime and night, and the block heel makes them comfortable and easy to walk in.  These are a classic that I will have in my closet for years to come.  They are also available in 8 colors.

Trunk Club Review
8. Vince Camuto Emberton Mule.  I actually asked my stylist for a specific mule, but since they weren't available through Trunk Club, she sent these for me to try instead.  Although I like the idea of them, I was hoping for a mule with a smaller heel, and didn't love how these looked on my foot.  Plus they run about a half size small, so they didn't fit.

Not shown: I was also sent these Caslon Drawstring Linen Pants, and three swimsuits.  I had requested a couple of one piece suits, which all three were super cute, but unfortunately non fit right.

So, what did I keep?
The Marc Fischer pumps.   Not only do I love them, but they're actually an item that I needed in my wardrobe.  Trust me, there were so many great items in my Trunk, and if I had the budget, I would have also kept the 1. State Tie Front Blouse, the Leith Side Knot Tee, and the Willow & Clay Eyelet shorts (all fit perfectly too).  However with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale beginning this week, I kept my Trunk purchases this month to a minimum.

Why I love the service:
As someone who is constantly shopping online, I love this service as I get to try the items on in my home, and I'm only charged for what I keep.  It's nice to not have to deal with any returns, and the fact that I can schedule a pickup for the items I'm sending back, is a major plus!  I also love using a personal stylist, as mine sent me items that I wouldn't normally choose for myself.  For instance, although I told her I needed a nude pump, I would have never thought to try on the pair she sent.  Also, I love that she introduced me to new brands.  Although the Willow & Clay dress didn't fit, I did like the dress so I checked out other items from the brand, and love the line! I will definitely be shopping for Willow & Clay in the future!
